Summer means a serious line-up of music festivals, from Mysteryland in rural New York to the Movement electronic music festival in Detroit. It’s easy now to rave, relax or rock at hundreds of music-themed events around the country during these long and hot days.

Often held in remote or semi-remote locations, or in urban areas such as parks, you may go ten to twelve hours (or more) without access to power sources. There may be Wi-Fi in the air, but you may pay for that constant connectivity by draining the battery, especially if you’re constantly sharing video or song-by-song photos of the headliners.

What if you could easily capture, share and stream the highlight music moments on your social networks, even with fellow festival-goers who are complete strangers?

Here’s our recommended pack list of non-tech and tech items, whether you’re enjoying Telluride Bluegrass, Bonaroo in Tennessee, or the Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rogue, or just going down the block to a city park:

  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Bug repellant and blister healers
  • Bottled water for hydration
  • Backup smartphone and tablet batteries
  • Extra mobile memory storage

With a full set of technology tools, you and your friends can stay informed and enjoy the full festival experience, including the food and crafts vendors, side attractions and demonstrations, the merchandise tents, transportation and nearby lodging.

Music festivals can be one of the most satisfying ways to experience live music, and if you capture those moments on your smartphone, you can re-live the festival experience once you’re home. Make sure you have all the storage and sharing conveniences before you buy your festival tickets.

Here’s a list of the top summer music festivals in 2015.
